Mentoring scheme
A mentee will be connected with a mentor who has valuable first-hand experience in one or more of the following areas: oncology, leadership, and academia. This will generally be a oncology registrar or consultant. The mentee will typically be a medical student, resident doctor or oncology trainee. This mutually beneficial scheme will provide both networking opportunities and individualised support in achieving aspirations and overcoming challenges.
Structure:

Three monthly virtual meetings for an initial period of one year.

Face to face meetings may be a possibility if mentors and mentees are working in the same trust.
The mentee will:

Create a personalised development plan to tackle specific goals

Receive advice, support and encouragement.
The mentor will:

Gain mentoring experience

Have an active role in promoting women in oncology leadership and academic roles.
